California has peaches rather near us in the Brentwood area but somehow Georgia Peaches just sound sweeter and juicier!

Their season is supposed to go from early May to early August! I just had to look it up because we are really looking forward to them as we go through Georgia.
We are trying to sample some foods we have never tried too....that will be interesting!

Not sure what part of Georgia you'll be passing through, but I'm pretty sure you'll hit I-75 at some point. If you are on I-75 near exit 142, you must, Must, MUST stop at Lane Packing Company. They give excellent demonstrations on the growing, picking, packing, and distribution of the Peach industry. They also have an excellent product floor with all kinds of peach goods. You'll have to try the homemade peach ice cream. It is the epitome of Georgian desserts.

Oh Sweet Dixie, you're killin me!!! Lane Packing Co. looks soooo inviting!! We just might have to do some squeezing on the itinerary and try to get there....maybe have lunch (soup and salad for me & my calorie count, and peach cobbler with homemade peach ice cream)!!! Oh YUM!
